Have you ever wondered why grown-ups keep telling you to wash your hands before you eat or after you use the restroom?  It's because germs make you squirm!  They will do anything to invade your body and make you sick.  Germs aren't all bad, though.  In this Web Quest, we'll learn about good germs too!  We'll also explore ways to defend ourselves against these pesky little critters

The Task: Identify why it is important to wash your hands
              Find out about good germs and bad germs.

The Process: Visit the following sites to understand why it is important to wash your hands.

Bacteria in the Cafeteria 

Visit the school cafeteria.  Click on the stars in the cafeteria.  Answer the yes or no questions.  After finding all of the stars, solve the microbe riddle.

Why you should wash your hands 

A.  In this site, first click on "Why Is Hand washing Important?" and list three reasons that hand washing is important.
B.  Second, click on "When To Wash".  List two reasons when you should wash your hands "before" you do something.  List two reasons when you should wash your hands "after" you do something.
